As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine foot patrols, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will assist visitors and staff with courteous communication, report concerns, and document activity using site technology as needed. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Be able to lift more than 20 pounds, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and/or post orders within a government location, including participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting public resources and/or site leadership as required.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas by observing activity, verifying authorization when directed, and directing visitors to appropriate destinations in accordance with site policies.
  • Document patrols, observations, and incidents in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate relevant information during shift handoff and/or to site contacts.
