About The Position

The Security Officer Flex Patrol Reserve serves and safeguards clients across a variety of industries and sites. The role provides hands-on security experience in changing work environments and can support career advancement within Allied Universal. Employees work 30–40 hours per week on schedules that vary week to week, combining manager-assigned shifts with shifts selected through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and irregular shifts may be assigned with little to no advance notice to meet client needs. The position is based in Honolulu, Hawaii, and pays $22.02 per hour.

Requirements

• Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Be able to travel the required distance.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire departments in the event of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn individuals of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
