About The Position
Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), Mission Technologies is seeking an individual to support security functions at a customer location. The primary function is to escort uncleared individuals into classified areas. This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt role with flexible hours that vary from week to week. Multiple candidates are being hired across a variety of experience levels. The position guards, patrols, and polices industrial premises to protect property and staff against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other hazards. It includes touring the premises, checking doors, windows, and gates, observing departing staff, inspecting equipment and stores for tampering, reporting irregularities, sounding alarms, permitting authorized persons to enter, and examining credentials for restricted-area access. The role may also involve directing traffic and using force of arms to carry out assignments. The position requires a minimum Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance following enhanced security checks. The job may take place in an industrial or shipboard environment and can involve exposure to temperature extremes, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors.
Requirements
- Minimum Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance with enhanced security checks.
- Ability to walk back and forth throughout a large facility on a regular basis.
- Security Escort 1: High school diploma or equivalent; zero years of experience.
- Security Escort 2: High school diploma or equivalent and two years of additional education and/or related experience.
- Security Escort 3: High school diploma or equivalent, five years of related experience, and certification in the assigned area.
- Ability to climb multiple stairs throughout the day.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Escort uncleared visitors into classified areas and maintain positive control of visitors throughout the day.
- Guard, patrol, and police industrial premises to protect property and staff against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other hazards.
- Periodically tour premises and examine doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
- Observe departing staff to guard against theft of company property.
- Inspect equipment and stores to determine whether tampering has occurred.
- Report irregularities and sound alarms when necessary.
- Permit authorized persons to enter property and examine credentials of people seeking access to restricted areas.
- Direct traffic on company premises when required.
- Escort visitors to workspaces, rest rooms, and in transit while they obtain tools and materials.
- Observe visitors outside in the vicinity of entrances to restricted spaces.
- Communicate with visitors, HII personnel, and government personnel to facilitate work.
- Assist with signing visitors and contractors in to the facility.
- Verify that visitors have been issued the proper badge.
