As a Security Officer Entrance Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as a driving Access Control Officer at a government location, where you will monitor entry points, verify badges and credentials, and support daily operations through strong communication and a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • COLA DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control protocols, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances and exits, verify credentials and permissions, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Screen visitors, vendors, and/or staff members in accordance with location policies, document arrivals and departures, and report unusual activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for security-related concerns and reporting maintenance and/or access issues.
