About The Position

As a Security Officer Emergency Communications in Cambridge, Massachusetts, you will serve and safeguard clients at a healthcare location. You will coordinate communications, document security-related activity, and dispatch resources to support timely responses. The role includes maintaining situational awareness, providing customer service, and helping promote a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The schedule is full time, with shifts from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday. The pay rate is $27.05 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require a minimum age of 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, patients, and staff by following site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
Coordinate dispatch communications for security officers, mobile patrols, and site personnel, documenting calls for service, incidents, and follow-up actions.
Receive, prioritize, and relay requests for assistance and critical information through radio, telephone, and electronic communication systems.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders according to established procedures.
Maintain accurate dispatch logs, incident records, and shift activity reports.
Support regular and random patrol coverage around the facility and perimeter when assigned.
