As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify authorized access, monitor activity, and provide professional customer service and communication. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support security-related operations. Requirements

  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorizations, maintain visitor records, and direct individuals in accordance with government facility procedures.
  • Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify unauthorized access, hazards, or unusual activity.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate relevant observations to site leadership and emergency responders as needed.
