Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be able to meet COLA DPSS/DHS requirements, including tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, contractors, and/or the public by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, gates, and/or secured areas, verify identification and authorization, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, noting unusual activity, operational concerns, and/or security-related issues.
  • Screen visitors, deliveries, and/or vehicles in accordance with post orders, maintain required logs and reports, and support orderly movement through designated access points.
