As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and drivers. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license in the job state. Through clear communication, professionalism, and teamwork, you will help deter security-related incidents while reflecting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and integrity-driven values.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, drivers, visitors, and/or vendors at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorization for access, check identification and/or credentials, and document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and shift documentation related to access-control activity, incidents, and security-related observations.
