Requirements

  • Possess 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21 or more years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a healthcare location.
  • Monitor access control points by checking identification, visitor credentials, and/or authorization for entry, while documenting arrivals, departures, and restricted area access activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around entrances, lobbies, waiting areas, and/or the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and unusual activity.
  • Support screening and visitor management processes, provide directions and assistance, and report maintenance concerns, hazards, and/or policy violations through appropriate channels.
