About The Position

As a Security Officer - Courthouse - Access Control and Patrol in Reading, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government service center, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support staff and visitors with professional customer service, clear communication, and detailed reporting using computer and/or tablet tools. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff at a government service center by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior spaces, entrances, corridors, stairwells, parking areas, and perimeter routes, noting conditions that may help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor access points by observing visitor flow, directing guests to appropriate offices, and reporting suspicious behavior and/or policy violations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, requesting public services when needed, and documenting actions taken.
  • Complete detailed written reports and daily activity logs, communicate significant updates during shift transitions, and support site operations by following post orders and maintaining a professional presence.
