About The Position

Under general supervision, is responsible for screening all people entering the courthouse complex, using screening equipment, monitoring people as they enter or exit, providing assistance to the public as needed, and responding appropriately to possible threats to security and safety of the courthouse complex.

Requirements

  • Skill in exercising tact, patience and courtesy in dealing with others
  • Knowledge of 800 radio system
  • Knowledge of 10 codes
  • Knowledge of security techniques
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions
  • Ability to learn department policies and procedures
  • Ability to learn divisions operations procedures
  • Ability to learn regulations pertaining to Courthouse Complex
  • Ability to gain respect and cooperation of others
  • Ability to keep alert and vigilant
  • Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgement
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work all shifts, (days, evenings and midnights), weekends, and all holidays
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Monitor screening equipment
  • Conduct daily test of screening equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Greets public
  • Provides information
  • Recognize and react to possible threats to safety and security to the complex
  • Search packages and other items brought to checkpoints
  • Complete appropriate reports of actions and threats
  • Performs other duties as assigned
