As a Screener in a government location, you will help support security-related screening operations, manage access points, and interact with visitors and staff with professionalism and clear communication. Requirements

  • Have 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access control duties, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen visitors, staff, and permitted items entering the location by using assigned screening equipment, reviewing credentials, and following established security-related policies.
  • Respond to incidents, prohibited item discoveries, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations through appropriate channels.
  • Monitor entry points and conduct regular and random patrols around designated areas and the perimeter, as post instructions and location conditions require.
  • Document screening activity, visitor interactions, and unusual events, and communicate clearly with site personnel, the public, and Allied Universal leadership.
