Requirements

  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, healthcare facility policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Receive, prioritize, document, and dispatch security-related calls for service using radios, telephones, computerized dispatch systems, and/or other communication tools.
  • Monitor security-related systems, including alarms, cameras, access control notifications, and emergency communications, and promptly relay relevant information to responding personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinate communications with hospital departments and emergency responders, and maintain accurate incident logs.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the healthcare facility and perimeter as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
