About The Position

As a Security Officer Communications in Rapid City, SD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to utility operations personnel, contractors, visitors, and/or callers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Monitor and dispatch information from alarms, communications systems, and incoming calls; document and relay relevant details to appropriate personnel in accordance with established protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, service requests, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; coordinate notifications and support emergency response communications when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, dispatch records, and shift documentation, including activity involving utility facilities, vehicles, and/or personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around utility operations areas and perimeter locations as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
