Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age is required.
  • Six or more months of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate for an educational location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with campus contacts and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and activity across the location, assisting with visitor directions, policy questions, and reporting of suspicious behavior and/or maintenance-related concerns.
  • Support daily campus operations by following post orders, preparing required reports, and maintaining awareness of changing conditions during routine and/or after-hours patrol activities.
