Security Officer Armed - First Shift

About The Position

As a full-time armed Security Officer supporting a critical utilities location in Minneapolis, Minnesota, you will serve and safeguard clients by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, and responding professionally to evolving situations. You will provide customer service and clear communication while supporting site operations. The scheduled shift is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pay is $25.60 per hour.

Requirements

At least two years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, perimeter areas, parking areas, and other assigned property to identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorizations, and maintain awareness of vehicle and pedestrian activity in accordance with site procedures.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; communicate with site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation related to patrols, incidents, access activity, and other security-related observations.
