Join Allied Universal at a government location as an armed Access Control Officer, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, conduct routine patrols, and provide professional customer service and communication. In this role, you will help to deter security-related incidents while supporting a caring culture built on teamwork, integrity, agility, reliability, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience or at least 2 years of security supervisor or manager experience or at least 3 years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Possess a college degree.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances and restricted areas, verify identification and/or credentials, and help to deter unauthorized access in accordance with post instructions and facility protocols.
  • Document visitor activity, maintain accurate access records, and communicate clearly with site contacts regarding deliveries, guest entry, and/or unusual activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with alarms, access issues, and other security-related concerns.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to identify access control concerns, report hazards, and support security-related procedures.
