Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience or at least 2 years of security-related supervisor and/or manager experience or at least 3 years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Possess a college degree.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor access control points, verify identification and/or credentials, and help to manage visitor, employee, and contractor entry in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or public officials as needed.
  • Maintain accurate activity logs, visitor records, and incident documentation, and report unusual activity or policy concerns through appropriate channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, noting access issues, unsecured areas, and/or conditions that could require security-related attention.
