Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Vehicle Patrol Driver in Manson, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government correctional location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls with calm, clear communication. You will document observations, support access control, and work closely with site staff to keep operations running smoothly. This post requires a valid driver’s license and involves carrying a firearm while acting with integrity and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts and coordinating notifications per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access at designated points by checking identification, monitoring entry and exit, and screening vehicles and/or belongings as authorized by site policy.
  • Complete routine security-related documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports, and communicate observations to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
