As an Armed Security Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support access control and screening activities. Requirements

  • Possess at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, staff, and members of the public while carrying out armed patrol procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned facilities, exterior areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and coordinating with appropriate law enforcement or emergency personnel.
  • Monitor access points and screen for unauthorized entry, documenting observations, incidents, and relevant activity in required reports.
  • Maintain professional communication with government personnel, visitors, and the public while supporting a respectful and orderly environment.
