Requirements

  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Have supervisory experience.
  • Possess a college degree.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Have 5 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Have 4 or more years of military or law enforcement experience or possess a criminal justice degree.
  • Possess a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and emergency response actions appropriate to an armed post at a utilities location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts, supervisors, and/or local responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, and other security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, gates, and restricted areas to help support authorized access, verify credentials when required, and report policy violations or suspicious behavior according to post instructions.
  • Support Allied Universal standards by completing required reports, maintaining awareness of site conditions, and following all post orders, use-of-force guidelines, and equipment procedures for an armed assignment.
