As a Security Officer Commissioned Armed Driver in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail location, you will conduct routine vehicle and/or foot patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. This driving and armed post offers the chance to support daily operations with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach while serving as a trusted presence throughout the location.

Requirements

  • Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas only.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and shoppers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or local law enforcement when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the store, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas for unusual behavior, access issues, and/or policy violations, and report findings according to post orders.
  • Support retail loss prevention efforts by observing customer and employee activity, assisting with incident response, and maintaining a visible presence throughout the location.
