As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government corrections location, you will conduct vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. Requirements

  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Have at least six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate within a government corrections environment.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access and movement within assigned areas, verify authorization as required, and report unusual conditions or policy violations.
  • Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
