You will conduct routine patrols across stations and surrounding areas, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with calm, professional communication. This role is ideal for someone who values teamwork, reliability, and integrity while delivering helpful customer service. This post requires an armed guard card or license.

Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, riders, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Carry and maintain authorized duty weapon and equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and post orders, comply with all training and qualification requirements, and use sound judgment and restraint consistent with use of force guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, suspicious activity, and/or alarms, and coordinate with local law enforcement and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit buildings, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity, identify hazards, and assist patrons with directions and information.
  • Complete detailed written reports and logs, document incidents and observations, and communicate timely updates to site leadership and/or dispatch while following chain of command.
