As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. Requirements

  • Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
  • Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at government transportation locations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as assigned, and report suspicious persons, vehicles, or conditions to appropriate personnel.
  • Carry assigned equipment in accordance with applicable laws, training, and site-specific policies, using sound judgment and professional conduct.
