Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism in an armed patrol post.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, controlled access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor inmate, staff, visitor, and/or vendor movement in assigned areas and report unusual activity, rule infractions, and/or maintenance concerns according to site protocols.
  • Support access control activities by verifying credentials, observing entry and exit activity, and documenting incidents, observations, and/or interactions in required reports.
