As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Have at least three years of security-related experience, law enforcement experience, military police experience, or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials as authorized, and maintain awareness of activity at the location to help protect personnel, property, and information.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and public service agencies as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, access points, and perimeter; document observations and report irregular conditions.
  • Maintain required firearms qualifications, complete assigned reports and activity logs, and follow Allied Universal and site-specific procedures for armed posts.
