As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government corrections location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or members of the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government correctional location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned areas, grounds, perimeter locations, access points, and/or parking areas, reporting unusual conditions or concerns.
  • Monitor access to designated areas, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor, vehicle, and incident information in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, requesting additional assistance when appropriate.
  • Maintain required armed post equipment and complete accurate activity reports, incident reports, and daily documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
