As an Armed Security Officer at a utilities location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns. This driving post requires an armed guard card or license and a valid driver’s license. Requirements

  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, substations, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access to restricted utility areas, verify credentials as required, and report unusual conditions, unauthorized persons, and potential hazards according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and public emergency responders when appropriate.
  • Complete detailed reports and maintain accurate records of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities.
