Requirements

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and government personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities.
  • Operate screening equipment and conduct entry screening in accordance with established procedures; identify prohibited items and/or unauthorized access concerns for appropriate escalation.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain required records related to incidents, patrols, screening activity, and other security-related observations.
