About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol Driver in Saint Petersburg, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service with clear communication and strong customer service. Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
Three or more years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree is required.
An Armed Guard Card and/or license is required.
Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government office location.
Perform armed post duties in accordance with Allied Universal policies, state and local laws, and client site requirements, including maintaining required permits, training, and qualification standards.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, offices, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing visitors to appropriate service areas in a professional manner.
Monitor cameras, alarms, and communications equipment, and report irregular conditions to site leadership and/or the appropriate authorities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts when possible and requesting assistance when needed.
Provide a visible presence during peak public service hours, special events, and/or high-traffic periods to help to deter disruptive behavior.
Complete incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation with clear and timely details, following site-specific reporting procedures.
Support emergency response activities such as evacuations, shelter-in-place actions, and medical response coordination until responders arrive.
Interact with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed, preserving scene integrity and providing relevant observations.
Assist with securing restricted areas, controlling elevator and/or stairwell access when directed, and enforcing posted rules consistent with site policy.
Maintain a professional appearance and courteous communication while enforcing policies consistently and addressing questions from the public.
