This role, located in Houston, TX, provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts. You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift (Anchor Shifts) requiring a six-month commitment. Additionally, you can pick up extra shifts through the Claim-A-Shift Program to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites, allowing for a flexible schedule that can scale up to full-time hours or back as needed. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities for growth.

Requirements

  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an active DoD Confidential Clearance.
  • Possess 1 or more year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess 1 or more year of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of security-related supervisor or manager experience or 5 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Possess a college degree.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at the front desk by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
  • Monitor visitor access, check identification and/or credentials, and direct guests, staff, and vendors in a professional manner within a government office setting.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report activity according to site protocols.
  • Answer phones, manage sign-in processes, and maintain accurate logs, reports, and other required documentation related to front desk activity.
  • Support access control operations by helping to deter unauthorized entry and escalating concerns to the appropriate contact when needed.
