As a Security Officer Armed Enhanced Part Time Desk in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an active DoD Confidential Clearance.
  • Possess 1 or more year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess 1 or more year of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of security-related supervisor or manager experience or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Possess a college degree.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess 5 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at the front desk by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a government location.
  • Monitor visitor access, check identification and/or credentials, maintain entry logs, and direct employees, guests, and vendors in accordance with site protocols.
  • Answer phones, greet the public, and communicate clearly with staff, visitors, and/or first responders regarding routine matters, incidents, and special instructions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns through established channels.
  • Support front desk operations by issuing visitor passes, receiving deliveries, maintaining accurate records, and helping to deter unauthorized access through consistent screening practices.
