As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol in Chapel Hill, NC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Requirements

• Possess 2 or more years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Pepper spray certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or staff while carrying out site-specific procedures, access control practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location, including interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter checkpoints, as assigned by post orders.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access, unusual activity, and/or policy violations while maintaining a professional presence.
• Support opening, closing, and/or after-hours coverage by following assigned post instructions, verifying credentials when required, and communicating clearly with clients, visitors, and first responders.
