About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Driving Patrol in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a professional environment through strong communication and customer service. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a 40 caliber endorsement.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and staff by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document security-related concerns in accordance with post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, buildings, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and public spaces, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Carry authorized equipment and perform assigned duties in compliance with Allied Universal standards, local laws, and site procedures while supporting public order and security-related operations.
