As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide professional assistance to employees and visitors. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Pepper spray certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following applicable post orders and emergency protocols.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorized entry as directed, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation for patrol activity, incidents, observations, and interactions with law enforcement and other responding agencies.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
