As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a highly visible presence, and help to deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, respond to concerns, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while providing customer service that reflects our caring culture. Guided by integrity and teamwork, you will support a respectful environment through reliable, agile, and innovative service.

Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or License.
• Comfortable using a computer and/or tablet preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, notifications, and documentation per post orders.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, entrances, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and screening procedures as assigned, verifying identification and/or authorizations while maintaining a professional, customer-focused presence.
• Complete required reports and logs such as incident reports, patrol activity, and equipment checks, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
