Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of years of corrections, law enforcement and military background.
• Possess a college degree in criminal justice.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and/or emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, while documenting security-related concerns and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas, verify authorized access when required, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations.
• Maintain readiness for an armed post by following post orders, handling assigned equipment in accordance with policy, and supporting security-related response activities as directed.
