Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card/license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout galleries, exhibit spaces, public areas, restricted locations, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor access points and screen entry into restricted areas, verifying credentials and assisting with visitor flow, special events, and/or after-hours activity as directed by site procedures.
• Support the protection of valuable collections, exhibits, and property by maintaining a visible presence, observing conditions, and communicating potential risks or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
