As a Armed Security Officer Access Controls in Palmdale, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic tech and telecommunications location as an Armed Access Control Officer, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence and strong communication. Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a California weapons permit with 9mm caliber endorsement.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Monitor access points and help control entry and exit by verifying credentials, processing visitors, and documenting deliveries and/or vendor activity in accordance with site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to supervisors, site contacts, and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access and unusual activity by observing people and property, maintaining accurate logs, and reporting suspicious behavior and/or policy violations.
