About The Position

As a Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocals and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will support a secure environment while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements

• 20+ Years of Age
• Valid Drivers License
• Ability to use computers - basic computer knowledge
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Be at least 20 years of age for unarmed roles; 22+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, travelers, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public areas, parking locations, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, restricted areas, and credentialed entry locations to support compliance with site rules, visitor procedures, and/or post orders.
• Observe and report suspicious behavior, unattended items, maintenance concerns, and/or hazards, while providing courteous assistance and directions to the public.
