Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, visitor management processes, and security-related policies at a healthcare location.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas by verifying identification, authorizing entry, maintaining visitor logs, and helping to deter unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with hospital personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Support a professional environment by assisting with badge checks, directing foot traffic, and reporting suspicious activity, policy violations, and other security-related concerns.
• Conduct regular and random observations of assigned entry points and surrounding areas, with working environments and conditions that may vary by location.
