About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Specialist in Franklin Park, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a commercial real estate location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and support a professional atmosphere through strong communication and customer service. You will help to deter security-related incidents while staying visible and responsive. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and staff by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities appropriate to a commercial real estate location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorization, and help to deter unauthorized access through attentive access control practices.
  • Maintain accurate visitor logs, badge distribution records, and other access-related documentation in accordance with property guidelines and Allied Universal standards.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to property management and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of lobbies, common areas, loading areas, and perimeter access points to identify unusual activity and report security-related concerns.
