About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control in Cape Canaveral, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, shoppers, and staff by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate for the location.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, loading areas, and other access points to help regulate entry and exit, verify credentials and/or permissions, and document visitor and vendor activity.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or local responders when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, including common areas, parking areas, and perimeter access points, to help identify unusual activity and security-related concerns.
  • Support security-related operations by preparing reports, maintaining logs, assisting with bag and/or package screening when required, and following post orders for retail and mall environments.
