As a Security Officer - Access Control in BOISE, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic tech and communications location, where you will help manage access control, verify badges and credentials, monitor entry points, and conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, security-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorizations, and help to deter unauthorized access while maintaining accurate logs, visitor records, and badge activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as appropriate.
  • Support lobby and reception area operations by assisting with visitor check-in, directing guests, answering routine questions, and communicating access-related requirements in a professional manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, unsecured access points, and other conditions that may require security-related follow-up.
