About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control in Van Nuys, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by greeting employees, visitors, and contractors at the front desk, following site-specific procedures, and supporting access control activities for a professional aerospace and defense location.
  • Monitor lobby and reception area activity, verify identification and credentials as required, and help to deter unauthorized access through attentive observation and visitor management practices.
  • Answer phones, assist with sign-in processes, issue visitor badges and/or temporary credentials, and maintain accurate front desk records in accordance with location policies.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency responders when appropriate.
  • Support Allied Universal and location protocols by documenting security-related concerns, reporting maintenance or access issues, and providing clear directions and assistance to guests and staff.
