As a Security Officer Screening Monitor in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, where you will monitor entry points, screen people and/or items, and support access activities while helping to deter incidents. This role combines customer service, communication, and attention to detail in a dynamic setting. Guided by a caring culture, teamwork, reliability, innovation, agility, and integrity, you will play an important part in daily security-related operations.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a busy logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen people, packages, and/or property entering or leaving the location in accordance with post orders and established screening protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report unusual activity through proper channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, operational spaces, and the perimeter, with attention to changing conditions across the location.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited items by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, and maintaining awareness of security-related concerns.
