About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control in Patchogue, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following site-specific procedures, managing access control points, and supporting security-related protocols for students, staff, visitors, and vendors at an educational location.
  • Monitor entrances and exits, check identification and/or credentials, log visitor activity, and report unusual or unauthorized access attempts to the appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating clearly with campus representatives and/or emergency contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and note security-related concerns.
  • Assist with directing foot traffic during busy periods, special events, and/or after-hours activity while maintaining awareness of site policies and access restrictions.
