As a Security Officer in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, help to deter security-related incidents, support access control and screening activities, and provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. You will communicate professionally, respond to routine concerns, and contribute to a caring environment through teamwork, integrity, reliability, and innovation with Allied Universal.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disruptive behavior, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with facility policies, assisting with directions and access-control procedures as needed.
  • Document incidents, observations, and interactions accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information to appropriate hospital personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
