As a Security Officer Access Control Screener in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. In this access control role, you will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Possess a TSA issued TWIC.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, and employees while carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or identification, and document visitor, vendor, and vehicle activity in accordance with post instructions.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, gate areas, and perimeter locations to help support site rules and observe unusual activity.
  • Communicate clearly with site contacts, law enforcement, and/or emergency responders as needed, and complete required logs, reports, and other post documentation.
